Lower Half (106-145): For the fourth season, the Lions once again will once again have the lower half of their lineup anchored by the Russo twins, who have combined for over 200 wins in their careers. Mike, a 2-time Region champ and state medal winner, projects at 126, where he'll be in the mix for a run at the State Title. Matt, a 3-time D21 runner-up and 2-time state qualifier, will be looking to make his 3rd trip to AC and a run at a spot on the podium after suffering an injury in last year's Regions. There's a solid cast around them in the lower half with junior Nick Pellegrino and senior Nick McConnel, both 16 match winners in 2014, returning. The lineup also gets a boost with the return of Jeremy Bollard (16 wins as a frosh) who missed most of last year with an injury.
Upper Half (152-Hwt): The upper half took a bit of a hit to graduation, but does return a handful of starters that should be much improved with a full year of experience under their belts. The top will also be strengthened with the return of junior Jared DiZenzo, who battled the injury bug throughout most of last season.
Outlook: Liberty should have a balanced lineup, but will be particularly tough down low with the Russo brothers, Pellegrino, McConnel, and Bollard. There's potential for a solid dual season if the upperweights continue to show improvement, and the team can avoid the injury bug that followed them around last season.
